Valentine's Meet- Feb 11-12th, 2006

Back by popular demand. SUN Masters will be organizing, planning and presenting the Valentine's Meet which will take place at the Long Center. We will need everyone's cooperation and participation. Start thinking of Sponsorship prospects, what events you what to swim and how you can help by volunteering to time, help with hospitality and/or clean-up..

The LMSC Awards Dinner will take place at the LONG Center on the 11th after the meet.

US Masters Swimming Championship-Ft. Lauderdale, Fl-May 19-22, 2005

Florida Aquatic Team (FACT) 3rd Overall;Women's division-2nd;Men's division-3rd.

The FACT team is comprised of over 500 State swimmers and is coached by our own SUN Masters coach Joe Biondi.

Individual results for our team were as follows:

  • Marianne Bradley: placed 6th, 9th and 10th in her individual events
  • Joan Campbell: National Champion (Gold) in 200IM, 400IM, 200 BR and 3 silver medals
  • Nancy Durstein: 1 Silver and 2 Bronze
  • Don Puchalski: Silver in in 4 events; Bronze in 1 event and a 4th

Relays

75+ Joan Campbell, Nancy Durstein, Bunny Cedarlund and Edna Gordon participated on two relay teams that broke the National USMS record!!! Check out the picture in this month's Swim Magazine!!


National Senior Games-Pittsburgh, Pa- June 16th-18th,2005

  • Joan Campbell-75-79; 3 Gold and 3 Silver
  • Nancy Durstein 75-79; 1 Gold, 3 Silver and an 8th place
  • Don Puchalski 65-69; 5 Gold and 1 Silver. Don set 3 Senior Game Records!!
  • Joan, Nancy and Don all qualified to participate in the National Senior Olympics locally at the Good Life Games in Clearwater and at the State level in the Florida State Games in the Villages last December

St. Pete Masters Long Course Championship July 115-17, 2005

  • Karen Mirlenbrink 25-29 2nd 200 BR; 3rd 200Fr, 50 BR
  • Marianne Bradley 60-64 1st 100BR, 100FR, 50FL, 200IM
  • Joan Campbell 70-74 1st 1500FR, 200FL, 100BR 2nd in 4 events; 3rd in 3 events and High Point age group winner.
  • Nancy Durstein 75-79 Competed in several events including the 1500.
